John R. Malone developed the UNIFON alphabet in the 1950's

Margaret Ratz published the book "Unifon: A design for teaching reading" in 1966

Variants of UNIFON used by Indian tribes
         Tolowa, Karuk, Yurok, and Hupa
         Sequoia
         Tolowa Language Dictionary, second edition edited by Loren Bommelyn

Nu-Vue-Cue is a variant of UNIFON used to teach deaf and multiply handicapped students to communicate. Roselyn Clark used this method very successfully.

This current website began in 2000 and has included many htm/contributors.
